London, 31 May 2024 – Lydian Collective, the boundary-pushing instrumental ensemble renowned for their fusion of electro jazz funk, is set to mark ten years of their musical evolution with the release of their latest single, “Decimal."

From the early success of their YouTube sessions in 2014 to sold out headliner shows at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Lydian Collective has travelled a remarkable path, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances and innovative compositions.

"Decimal" serves as a testament to their growth and creativity over the past decade, offering listeners a reminder of the band's multi-faceted sonic universe.

At its core, "Decimal" embodies the core of Lydian Collective's signature sound – an amalgamation of intricate melodies, infectious grooves, and playful rhythms. Set in a minor key, the track holds a quintuplet groove - a musical Easter egg symbolising the band's journey of ten years with its multiple of ten.

Drawing inspiration from a montage of their own tracks, "Decimal" is a blend of pop-funk sensibilities and syncopated rhythms, showcasing the band's penchant for crafting hooky, melodic compositions that resonate with audiences worldwide.

With its infectious energy and irresistible charm, the single is poised to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers alike, reaffirming Lydian Collective's status as one of the most exciting acts in the modern music landscape.

Expect to see the band performing “Decimal” live across the UK and abroad from late summer into the autumn of 2024, with appearances at several festivals now confirmed.

"Decimal" is available on all major streaming platforms now.

‘November’ - Lydian Collective release fourth single from upcoming album ‘Return’ on April 15th 2022

Already amassing nearly 100k YouTube views, ‘November’ is a relaxing and melodic morning meditation

March 21, 2022 – In the run up to the launch of their second studio album Return, Lydian Collective, the UK instrumental group whose music has been described as ‘genre-crashing’ and ‘life-affirming’, will release their fourth single November on April 15th on AWAL.

November - in its current incarnation - has been decades in the making. Originally written in 2005 by Aaron Wheeler (keys) and Todd Baker (guitar) in Aaron’s living room, the track had an experimental electronica sound. Creating the original riff with a DIY mandolin, acoustic guitar, percussive household items and vocal snippets, mixed with granular synth elements, November was quite far removed from the live jazz quartet piece it later became in 2014.

When the tune hit YouTube as a Lydian Collective piece, it celebrated immediate success. Over the years it has racked up almost 100,000 views and become a fan favourite, with many wondering why it didn’t make the cut on the band’s first album Adventure. “Some of the tracks just worked a little better conceptually for that record than November did,” says Aaron, “It has found a good home on Return, though. It wasn’t until 2021 that we actually managed to record November with a grand piano.”

The studio version of the tune still keeps the same emotional principles of the original 2005 concept: a brooding storm, calming into nostalgia and simplicity with a lilting, timeless melody on top. YouTube fans have said the relaxing serenity of the piece is their sunrise meditation soundtrack; a perfect accompaniment to their coffee and early morning walk.

November will be available on all streaming/download platforms on April 15th 2022. Pre-order / pre-save at lydiancollective.fanlink.tv/november

The forthcoming album - Return - will be available in a very limited run of double vinyl, available to pre-order now at lydiancollective.fanlink.to/return
